Small airplane accident leaves two men dead

Those in New York who fly in private airplanes may be interested to learn of a recent crash in Hawaii. A single-engine plane crashed in late February, killing two people. The plane crashed in the morning at Dillingham Airfield, an airport located northwest of Honolulu.

Honolulu Emergency Medical personnel treated one man in his 60s at the scene who suffered traumatic injuries from the small plane accident. He was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The other man who passed away was also in his 60s and was pronounced dead at the airfield. The men were flying in a Cessna 305. An investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board is being held to look into the cause of the crash. Experts say that it may take up to a year to determine the cause.

After the crash, lawmakers called for the airfield to be shut down as many believe that it can no longer be safely run. In June 2019, a skydiving plane crashed in the same airfield. All 11 people on board the plane were killed. The state had previously planned to transfer the airfield back to the Army in July 2020.

Small plane crashes can result in devastating injuries or death. When a family member loses a loved one in a plane crash, they often face costly medical bills and loss of income. Small plane manufacturers have the responsibility to ensure that the planes are free from problems. In this case, the engine lost power right before the crash. This may have been a design defect that occurred in the manufacturing of the plane. If this can be proven, it may show negligence on behalf of the manufacturer. A lawyer might file a wrongful death suit on behalf of a family who lost a loved one to help them collect damages.
