Turbulence causes 75 percent of weather-related plane crashes

Turbulence is a serious problem in any aircraft; however, you might feel it more in a smaller plane. There's also a chance that the turbulence will impact the smaller planes in a more profound manner. Because of this, there's a chance that you might suffer injuries if the pilot has to go through it.

There are a few causes of turbulence that are common. Sometimes, it's evident to an experienced pilot that they will have to go through certain types of turbulence. In those cases, they can alert their passengers to this possibility. Still, there are some instances in which it just sneaks up on the plane.

Turbulence is an issue for planes because it can damage the structure of the plane, which compromises the integrity of the aircraft. In severe cases, the pilot may be unable to maintain control of the plane. There's also the matter of occupants of the plane being tossed around within the cabin.

In some cases, loose objects in the cabin go flying when there's turbulence. This can strike people, so it's imperative that everything is properly stowed.

If you do end up hitting turbulence, try to remain calm. Any injuries you have should be swiftly addressed. Even small aircraft should have a first aid kit to address minor injuries. More major injuries might require you to get medical care when you land.

The National Transportation and Safety Board (NTSB) notes that turbulence is the cause of 75% of aircraft crashes that are related to weather conditions. If you're one of the individuals who's harmed in one of these, working with an attorney who is familiar with this type of case might be beneficial. You can determine what options you have and decide how to proceed with your case.
